How Long Do I Have to File a Personal Injury Claim in Florida?
According to the Florida Statutes section 95.11(3)(a), the statute of limitations for personal injury cases in Florida is four years. The statute of limitations is a law which limits how long a claimant intending to file a personal injury claim has to file their claim before they lose their legal right to do so.
More specifically, this means you have four years from the date your injury was inflicted to file a claim, or you will most likely lose your right to file along with your right to pursue compensation. It’s important to note, there are some exceptions that can alter this four year time limit, so it’s important to speak to a knowledgeable attorney about the specifics of your case as soon as possible and learn if you meet any of these exceptions.

Sometimes everyday life can feel like a struggle. You work, pay bills, and you fight to spend enough time with the people you love. Then, out of nowhere, tough times hit.
The truth is that behind nearly every serious injury and wrongful death claim, there is an insurance company working hard to minimize the money it will have to pay. Insurance companies are effective at spinning the facts, and it requires expertise to defeat them.
Likewise, behind every arrest or seizure of money or assets is a state or federal government driven to win its case.
